I cannot eat my beloved Breyers Ice Cream too soon before bedtime, else I too will succumb to the dreaded acid reflux. I know your pain – bolting upright in the middle of the night with that awful burning & coughing! I will say a prayer that your lovely vocal chords will be spared lest you become the next Bonnie Tyler (her big hits = “It’s a Heartache”, “Total Eclipse of the Sun”). Nice seeing you again, Leesha. One of the ancient remedies to stomach problems is cumin powder, one heaping teaspoon will do the trick, tough to swallow, but works.
Suffered with reflux for years and didn’t take it seriously.
After 2 years I checked the web and found out how dangerous it is.
I found out that “Bartlets Esophagus” or B.E. can develop from repeated burning and healing over the years.
Esophagial cancer can develop and it is becoming very common.

Hey Leesha, Merry Christmas to you and yours. I can relate since I have chronic AR. Try out a low acid coffee. It can be well managed with the meds available but you have to take it everyday. I pray that your beautiful voice recovers soon and wish you the best in all your endeavors in the new year.
